In 2024, Peru experienced a 4% increase in Brazil nut exports, reaching 5,471 tons with a value of $40.2 million, marking a 40% increase in export value from the previous year. The average price per kilogram rose by 34% to $7.36. These nuts found their way to 49 markets worldwide, with South Korea, the United States, and Spain being the leading importers, accounting for 30%, 22%, and 7% of the market share, respectively. South Korea's imports totaled 1,569 tons, the United States imported 1,187 tons, and Spain imported 336 tons. The exports were facilitated by 36 Peruvian companies, with White Lion Nuts S.A.C. being the largest exporter, and the logistics were primarily handled by APM Terminals (53% of shipments) and DP World (47%).
