In February 2025, Peruvian fresh banana exports saw a decline in both volume and value compared to the same month in the previous year. The exports totaled 11,712 tons, valued at $9.26 million, marking a 19% decrease in volume and a 23% decrease in value. This downturn was largely attributed to a drop in demand from the Netherlands and the United States, the primary markets for Peruvian bananas. The average price per kilogram also decreased by 4% to $0.79. Despite these challenges, the Netherlands remained the leading market, with a 31% share, followed by the United States with a 23% share.
