(Agraria.pe) From January to May 2023, Peruvian exports of fresh pomegranates totaled 41,603,585 kilos, showing a contraction of -12% compared to the 47,322,037 kilos shipped in the same months of the previous year. This was reported by the president of the consultancy Inform@cción, Fernando Cillóniz Benavides, who indicated that, in the first two months of this year, shipments of this fruit were very low, in the following months they were better accommodated, but they continued to be lower compared to 2022. He explained that exports of fresh pomegranates from Peru behaved as follows: January, 859,245 kilos (2,330,739 kilos in January 2022); February, 5,151,675 kilos (6,961,480 kilos in February 2022); March, 15,392,166 kilos (16,505,424 kilos in March 202); April, 14,317,747 kilos (14,253,949 kilos in April 2022); and May 5,882,752 kilos (7,270,445 kilos in May 2022).
