In January 2025, Peru's imported goods totaled US$5.171 billion, marking a 28% increase from the previous year and setting a record for the highest import value in the past 26 years, as reported by the Center for Global Economy and Business Research of the Association of Exporters (CIEN-ADEX). This growth was observed despite a decrease in the average prices of key imported products such as Diesel B2 and crude oils. The imports were dominated by raw materials and intermediate products, followed by capital goods and construction materials, and consumer goods. China was the top supplier, with a 30.3% share, followed by the United States at 19.7%.
