Over 14,500 hectares infected with leaf mosaic disease According to the Department of Cultivation - Plant Protection Phu Yen, in the crop year 2022-2023, the province has sown 25,191 hectares of cassava. Of which, in Song Hinh district 9,200 ha, Son Hoa 8,100 ha, Dong Xuan 4,531 ha, Tay Hoa 2,288 ha, Phu Hoa 372 ha, Tuy An 371 ha and Song Cau town 329 ha. Up to now, cassava plants in the area are in the growth stage of developing leaves and accumulating starch. However, virus mosaic disease currently causes damage with a total area of 14,530 hectares on most varieties such as KM419, KM94, KM140, KM98-5... of which the infection is 8,200 hectares, the disease rate is from 20-100%. In Song Hinh district, cassava leaf mosaic disease has caused damage to about 5,700 hectares, of which 4,400 hectares are severely infected.
