Russia: Potato yields in Transbaikalia farms are 20% higher than in 2022

Potato harvesting continues in agricultural organizations in Transbaikalia, and the yield of the second grain is encouraging.

This was announced by the deputy head of the regional agricultural department, Alexander Tyukavkin.

“Currently, potatoes have been dug on 322 hectares, which is 40% of the harvested area. 5.4 thousand tons of root crops have been dug up, the average yield is 168 centners per hectare. A year ago, on this date, Transbaikalia farms harvested 3.9 thousand tons with an average yield of 137 centners per hectare,” said the deputy minister.

Work on harvesting potatoes is being carried out by farmers of the Chita, Uletovsky, Olovyanninsky, Krasnochikoysky and districts. In the coming days, farmers from the Karymsky district will complete the harvest.
