In June, Statistics Netherlands published figures on the cultivated area of potatoes, sugar beets and seed onions. The expected hectare yields of these crops are now added to this. These have been estimated by cultivation advice experts on the basis of the latest available information. Statistics Netherlands makes an estimate of the gross yields of these three crops on the basis of the acreage cultivated and the expected yields per hectare. The gross yield of ware potatoes in 2022 is expected to amount to 3.9 million tons. The acreage for ware potatoes this year amounts to 76,600 hectares. The hectare yield is therefore expected to be 51.3 tons. The sugar beet harvest is estimated at 7.1 million tons. The sugar beet acreage is 81,700 hectares and an average yield of 87.2 tons is expected.
