Chicken meat prices fell in November, interrupting three consecutive months of increases, according to surveys by Cepea. According to agents consulted by the Research Center, the greater availability of live chickens for slaughter throughout the month ended up increasing the supply of meat in the wholesale market. In addition, the seasonal weakening of demand in the second half of the month caused a drop in values during the period – which pressured the monthly average. In the wholesale market of Greater São Paulo, the whole frozen chicken had an average of R$ 7.77/kg in November, a decrease of 2.1% from October.
