In Zimbabwe, which was once called the "granary" in Africa, grain production has dropped by more than 40 percent. Zimbabwe's Minister of Information, Monica Mutsvangwa, said in a statement to the press that the low rainfall and the late onset caused a contraction in agricultural production.
