Production of consumer eggs showed a year-on-year increase of 2.5% in December 2024

In December 2024, the production of eggs for consumption in Chile experienced a year-on-year increase of 2.5%, going from 339,250,539 to 347,655,794 units, as reported by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). Regarding color classification, the production volume of white eggs increased by 5.7% (equivalent to 13,454,994 units), while the production of colored eggs decreased by 4.8% (equivalent to 5,049,739 units). During the same analysis period, the number of laying hens nationwide increased by 2.0% compared to December 2023, reaching a total of 14,433,819 birds.
