According to the chairman of the Fisheries Committee, the recent population decline and aging in rural areas are progressing at the fastest rate ever. As of 2024, the farming population is approximately 2 million, a 4.1% decrease from the previous year, and the proportion of elderly people aged 65 and over has reached a record high of 55.8%, impacting the agricultural and fishing industries.
