Following the low cost of meat and the lack of markets, representatives of the public and private sectors that make up the High Level Meat Table met to propose ideas and look for alternatives that promote the commercialization of Paraguayan products. The Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Carlos Giménez, stated that the Table was reactivated after nine months of concern about the prices recorded for meat.
He stressed that although the fluctuations are temporary, it is important to analyze what other alternatives may exist. “We met to listen and help each other from this meeting to propose ideas that can lead us to better marketing of our meat outside the country taking into account that today this limits our price quite a bit. Also structure the following meetings with the Rural and the refrigerators,” he said. And he added: that we must stop selling meat as a commodity, but rather give it added value such as selling the cuts and also publicizing the quality of organic meat that has conquered international markets.
