For the year 2022, the budget allocation for the specific payment for this crop is 59.594 million euros, for a national base area of 48,000 hectares, which represents an amount of 1,241.555 euros per admissible hectare. To the extent that the cultivated area exceeds this basic area, the amount of aid per hectare will be reduced proportionally. The publication of this rule allows cotton farmers to know, sufficiently in advance, the requirements to receive the payment of aid in the next campaign 2022/2023 and thus facilitate the decision on their sowings. For said campaign, the criteria of previous periods related to eligible areas, authorized varieties, crop rotation, planting densities, as well as other requirements for cultivation and quality of the harvested cotton production, are maintained.
