Puno: Positive results recorded in the production of carachis in Lake Titicaca

So far in the 2024-2025 campaign of the project "Recovery of the Carachi Gray and Yellow Biomass," positive results have been recorded, with a significant increase in the production of this native species in Lake Titicaca, according to the Regional Production Directorate (Direpro) of Puno. According to recent monitoring, artisanal fishermen and the project's technical team verified that the planting of 3 million fry in the past campaign has produced carachis with sizes exceeding 8 centimeters.
