From January to September 2024, Russian pork exports experienced a significant increase of 23% in volume and 27% in value compared to the same period in the previous year. A total of around 200,000 tons of pork, valued at approximately $430 million, was exported to international markets. The export breakdown included 50% frozen pork, 23% fresh and chilled pork, and 27% offal. Belarus was the primary importer, increasing its purchases by 14% to 65,000 tons, primarily for fresh and chilled pork. Vietnam and China followed as the second and third largest importers, with Vietnam's imports decreasing by 16% to 59,000 tons and China starting to allow three Russian companies to export pork, leading to the supply of nearly 30,000 tons of meat worth $78 million. Additionally, Russia has seen a doubling of pork exports to Serbia and Hong Kong, a 20% increase to Mongolia, and the initiation of exports to Uzbekistan, Togo, Seychelles, and Brazil.
