Russian enterprises have doubled the production of red caviar.
During 2021, the production volumes of these products reached about 2.6 thousand tons, according to the Federal Agency for Fisheries. In 2020, the results were much more modest and amounted to 11.4 thousand tons.
Last year's successful salmon fishing season contributed to the increase in the indicator, as a result of which 540 thousand tons of Pacific salmon were caught from the depths of the sea. This was the best result ever.
In November last year, the retail price of red caviar reached a historic high and amounted to 5,000 rubles per kilogram. In December, its sales decreased by 18% compared to December 2020.
