Sales of Spanish and Dutch peppers in the EU are falling

In the period analysed, the Spanish supply amounted to 457.82 million kilos, which is 40.75% of all peppers purchased in the EU. The value of the Spanish sales decreased by € 838.88 million in percentage terms, slightly less, namely 4.78%. This is because the average price had increased by 3.98% to € 1.83 per kilo. Dutch sales of bell peppers in the EU fell by 6.34% to 261.57 million kilos in the first 10 months of 2022. That is 17.71 million kilos less than in 2021. The turnover amounted to € 555.72 million and the average price was € 2.12 per kilo. That made them 15.85% more expensive than Spanish peppers.
