Tridge summary

Vietnam ranks 5th globally in coconut cultivation area and production, with 15 provinces covering about 200,000 hectares and producing over 2 million tons annually. The country is planning to further develop this key industrial crop, with significant contributions from Ben Tre province. Vietnam is also a major exporter of coconut products to 40+ countries, generating over 900 million USD in 2023. However, the export value of coconut products faces challenges due to changing quarantine requirements in export markets, including the EU, Australia, and the United States, which require specific certifications and compliance with food safety standards. China, a significant market, requires registration and approval of food production enterprises exporting food to the country.
