Tridge summary

The Center for Economic Research in Agriculture (SARA) expects harvested areas of corn to be 570 thousand ha. The average yield is predicted to be around 6 t/ha, while according to JRC-Mars it will be 6.08 t/ha. Scarce rainfall in the critical July and frugal agronomy will negatively impact, while a lack of rainfall in August will help the later varieties. There is a 53% probability that total corn production will be between 3.3-3.45 million tons, while the probability of being 10% above these volumes is 24%. In 2021, according to data from the Ministry of Agriculture, the corn harvest was 3,376,000 tons. In the case of sunflower, the harvested areas will be 840 thousand ha with an average yield of 2.3 t/ha. SARA's estimate for the 2022/23 harvest, with a probability of 45%, is that it will average 1.8-1.95 million tonnes. According to JRCMars, the estimated yield drops to 2.24 t/ha, which is 3% below the average for the last 5 years. According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture, sunflower production last year amounted to 1,989,000 tons.
