Vietnam: Seafood exports in the second quarter will slow down due to shortage of raw materials and IUU yellow card

According to the Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) in April, Vietnam's exports of caught seafood products reached nearly 377 million USD, up 24% over the same period in 2021. Accumulated in the first four months of the year, seafood exports reached over $1.3 billion, up 26% over the same period last year, accounting for 35% of the country's total seafood export value. (Source: VASEP) Vietnam's seafood exports include marine fish products (except tuna and pangasius) accounting for 46.2% of Vietnam's total seafood export value; tuna accounted for 28.4%; squid, octopus accounted for 16.4%; crabs, crabs and other crustaceans accounted for 5.3%; bivalve molluscs accounted for 3.6% and the rest were other molluscs.
