Tajikistan plans to import over 1,200 tons of high-quality seed potatoes and grain seeds from Belarus and Russia this year to develop potato cultivation. Last year, the country imported over 526 tons of potato seeds from Russia. The agriculture ministry aims to increase the potato sowing area to over 70,000 hectares, which could potentially result in a harvest of 1.4 million tons. This expansion will involve converting land previously used for cereal and fodder cultivation.
