Selling prices for pork in Russia have decreased by 2% over the past month. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture.
“The livestock industry is showing steady growth in 2023, including in the pork segment. The growth in production ensures a stable situation in the pork market. Thus, over the past month, selling prices for these products have decreased by 2%,” the report says. The ministry clarifies that due to the commissioning of new capacities in January - August, pig production in agricultural organizations increased by 5.9%, to 3.6 million tons in live weight compared to the same period last year. “The Ministry of Agriculture expects the positive dynamics to continue at the end of the year,” the message says. Earlier, the Izvestia newspaper, citing the Association of Peasant Farms of Russia (AKKOR), reported that the situation with ASF, a reduction in livestock, as well as more profitable sales of pork for export could lead to a new increase in prices.
