Amid the uncertainty reigning at INTA (National Institute of Agricultural Technology), which for months has been under the threat of an Executive decree that promises to end its autonomy, as well as implement cuts in its expenses and personnel (around 1,500 workers would be laid off), the Secretary of Agriculture, Sergio Iraeta, received the presidents of the regional councils of that organization, to whom he confirmed imminent modifications.
"The secretary informed us that the decree is being drafted and that they are being consulted," stated a communiqué prepared by the eight representatives who attended the meeting, which was also attended by the Head of the Secretariat's Cabinet, Martín Fernández, and the Vice President of INTA, María Beatriz Giraudo.
