Three cargo vessels carrying over 70,000 tons of wheat arrived at the port of Tartus in Syria as part of a program to strengthen strategic grain reserves and ensure the needs of the domestic market, reported the local publication sana.sy, citing information from the port administration, writes Interfax-Ukraine. "Three vessels loaded with more than 70,000 tons of wheat arrived at the port of Tartus for the General Directorate of Trade and Grain Processing within the framework of the government's ongoing efforts to strengthen the strategic grain reserve and meet the needs of the local market for wheat," the publication noted. Operational manager of the Tartus port, Yousef Arnous, clarified that two vessels brought grain from Ukraine, and one from the Russian Federation, and they are currently being unloaded. Part of the cargo will be stored in the port's grain silos, while the rest will be transported by trucks and rail to meet the needs of the local market and ensure food security. ...
