Spanish and Dutch pepper sales in the EU decrease while Moroccan pepper sales grow

During the period analyzed, Spain sold 457.82 million kilos of peppers to the EU, accounting for 40.75% of all the peppers that the EU purchased. Even though the price of peppers in 2022 stood at €1.83/kg (i.e., 3.98% more than in the previous year), the value of the Spanish pepper sold in the EU in the period analyzed decreased by 4.78% over the same period of the last year totaling 838.88 million euro. The Netherlands sold 261.57 million kilos of peppers to the EU between January and October 2022, i.e., 6.34% or 17.71 million kilos less than in 2021. Dutch pepper exports to the EU stood at 555.72 million euros, with an average price of € 2.12/kg, i.e., 15.85% more expensive than the Spanish product.
