Stavropol region is a bronze winner for the 2023 grain harvest in Russia

In 2023, the Stavropol Territory took third place in Russia in terms of gross harvest of grains and legumes with 8.2 million tons, as follows from the report of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory. The leading farms in productivity are the Kochubeevsky, Novoaleksandrovsky, Predgorny, Krasnogvardeysky and Trunovsky districts.
Currently, row crops are being harvested in the region: corn has been harvested on more than 30% of the area, sunflower on 72%, sugar beets on 44%. There are no final results yet, but even here we can already preliminarily talk about good results. The branch of the Russian Agricultural Center in the Stavropol Territory emphasizes that in difficult weather conditions, high performance was achieved through a combination of a number of factors: competent agricultural technology, the use of high-quality seeds, phytosanitary monitoring and timely protective measures. “Our specialists in the regions annually pass through colossal volumes of seeds through their hands,” reminded acting branch manager Olga Kuznetsova. – A phytoexpertise is carried out, during which hundreds of tons of seeds are checked for the presence of pests and pathogens, a treatment scheme is developed, and seeds with low germination and growth energy are rejected.
