Sunflowers and sugar beets are being sown, spring field work has begun in 18 regions of Ukraine

18 oblasts of Ukraine have already begun sowing spring crops, and Ternopil oblast is currently the leader in terms of pace of work. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy. Thus, all categories of farms planted 293 thousand hectares of grain and leguminous crops, of which: spring wheat - 76.1 thousand hectares; spring barley - 168.1 thousand ha; peas - 35.3 thousand ha; oats - 14.2 thousand ha.

Over the past week, a total of 210,000 hectares of grain and leguminous crops were sown, with Ternopil Oblast leading the way - 47,200 hectares. Farmers of Vinnytsia, Volyn, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi and Cherkasy regions have started planting sugar beets. Farmers of Odesa region have started to sow sunflowers.
