Processing apples are becoming more expensive for the second year in a row: prices for the new harvest start at 25-30 rubles/kg, in 2024 they were at 18-22 rubles/kg, in 2023 they were 11 rubles/kg. The CEO of the "Gardeners of Kuban" union, Nikolay Shcherbakov, also confirmed to the publication that farms are selling new harvest apples at 30% higher prices than last year. However, in September-October, during the main harvest period, the price always decreases, and processing apples are unlikely to be more expensive than 25 rubles/kg, that is, approximately at last year's level, he believes.
According to the chairman of the Association of Nurserymen and Gardeners of the Stavropol Territory, Aydin Shirinov, processing apples can now be bought at up to 20 rubles/kg. He attributes last year's price surge to high demand due to a decrease in the harvest in central Russia—precisely where apples are predominantly used for processing.
