- In the recently completed campaign (January 30, 2022), sugar producers signed contracts for the cultivation and delivery of sugar beet with 27,294 farmers, from whom they purchased over 15.2 million tonnes of beet. This year's campaign produced over 2.3 million tonnes of sugar, which is a better result than last year's, when 1.98 million tonnes were produced, informs the Association of Sugar Producers in Poland. In fact, according to ZPC, in 2021 the number of growers decreased by more than 2,000 compared to 2020, but the average size of crops increased again, amounting to 9.16 ha compared to 8.58 ha in 2020. This means that growers increase their arable acreage.
