The process for the recognition of the coveted Community trademark, promoted by the Promoting Committee in 2018, is therefore about to end. In the next three months from its publication and in the absence of any opposition from the other member countries, the European Commission will finalize the registration of the Dop with specific Regulation. A well-deserved recognition for the operators of the eight chestnut municipalities of the Monte S. Croce area, in the Upper Casertano. The denomination for which registration is requested refers to chestnuts, fresh and dried, belonging to the main cultivars grown in the area which are: Tempestiva (or Primitiva), Napoletana (or Riccia), Paccuta, Lucente and Mercogliana (or Marrone).
