Tridge summary

Although it has not yet presented figures, the International Grains Council (CIC) has advanced in its report for this month of January that world wheat production could increase again in the next campaign 2022/23, for the fourth consecutive campaign, and reach a new record. According to its first projections, consumption will also rise to an all-time high, so end-of-season stocks will remain unchanged and the remaining reserves of the large exporting countries will remain below average. With improved harvests in some countries, wheat trades are expected to decline from this season's record. Regarding the current 2021/22 campaign, the CIC has revised downwards its forecast for world production of corn (mainly in South America), as well as that of oats, barley and rye. On the contrary, it has increased that of wheat, especially in Australia and Argentina.
