From today until July 14, all farmers, processors, and traders can discuss and submit proposals for the draft Law on the Supply Chain of Agricultural Products and Food, which has been uploaded to the Council of Ministers' consultation internet portal. The goal of the new regulation is for raw product producers to receive an adequate price for their labor and not sell their produce below cost, while at the same time, the final prices of agricultural products in stores far exceed what they receive. All buyers will mandatorily be registered in a register, and their commercial relationships with farmers and livestock breeders will only occur through contracts signed for at least 6 months. These will include identifications of the contracting parties, the type of agricultural products, and the price, which can be lower than production costs and must include a markup of at least 10% of their size.
