The early heat wave that was suffered at the end of April and the existing drought in the southern part of Spain have caused the garlic harvest to be brought forward by about 15 days compared to the usual dates. The National Association of Garlic Producers and Marketers, ANPCA, met at its Extraordinary General Assembly held in Santaella (Códoba), on the occasion of the start of the new Spanish garlic harvesting campaign. During the day, news about the progress of the plantations and the early start of the harvest were discussed. Harvesting of Spanish early garlic began in Córdoba with favorable weather conditions and no rain problems, with very good quality bulbs and excellent sizes.
