The European Union exported 4 million tons of grain from Ukraine by land and water in August. This is the highest figure for the month, said European Commissioner for Transport Adina Valean. “Only in August was Ukraine able to export along solidarity lines (land and river corridors opened at the initiative of the European Commission in the spring of 2022 - TASS note),” Valean said. She noted that these routes became the only ones for Ukrainian agricultural exports after the termination of the Black Sea grain deal. According to her, from May 2022 to August 2023, 53 million tons of agricultural products were exported through solidarity lines, including 48 million tons of grain, the export of which brought Ukraine 38 billion euros.
