Russia's Irkutsk region is ready to increase the export of agricultural products to Mongolia

Agricultural enterprises of the Irkutsk region are ready to sell vegetables, dairy, fish products, products from wild plants and other goods to Mongolia, and the region is also interested in marketing products through retail chains, wholesale and logistics centers of Mongolia. On March 23, 2023 the press service of the government of the region reported about it. The issues of cooperation were discussed by the Governor of the Irkutsk Region Igor Kobzev and the Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia Khayangagiin Bolorchuluun.
The meeting took place during the visit of the delegation of the Angara region to Ulan Bator. In 2022, the total trade turnover amounted to almost $85 million, including agricultural products - $22.3 million or 26.2%. Most of the agricultural products exported are cereals, oil and fat products, chicken eggs, water, and pasta. Mongolia is a promising partner for the Irkutsk region in the export of agricultural products and food products. – The agro-industrial complex plays an important role in the economy of the Irkutsk region. We are actively developing crop production, animal husbandry, the production of food products and drinks.
