The Russian Grain Union criticized the government for an untimely ban on grain exports

The Russian government has banned the export of grain to the EAEU countries until June 30, as well as white sugar and raw cane sugar to third countries until August 31. President of the Russian Grain Union Arkady Zlochevsky considers the decision correct, but not timely. On the air of the Public News Service, he said that Kazakhstan has been reselling Russian grain and sugar to neighboring countries for a long time, passing it off as its own production.
“Our main export was to Kazakhstan. He bought a decent amount. At the moment, we estimate the export of about three million tons. But hidden processes took place there, which we knew about, but it is strange that only now they took measures, since Kazakhstan bought our grain, re-registered it for its own origin or transit, and resold it to Uzbekistan, Tajikistan. And this is a bad practice that should have been stopped a long time ago, and the decision was issued only now, and this is a very untimely measure, since we have just started sowing, and we are not giving a very good signal to the market through such a ban.
