The president of Agarba, Iván López, has declared to Efeagro that in his opinion Norway's position in the negotiation with the EU of fishing quotas is "scandalous", which has caused diplomatic tensions. He regretted that at the same time the Scandinavian country "continues to work" with Russia normally despite the war in Ukraine. The community fishing sector, supported by Spain and other governments, has denounced for more than a year the way in which Oslo catches are allocated in the fishing grounds shared with the EU, and even the shipowners' associations came to request a boycott in 2021 against Norwegian fish.
