As of September 13, the harvest of wheat, barley and rapeseed in Great Britain has been completely completed, announced the British Council for Agriculture and Horticulture, quoted by the electronic publication APK-Inform. Estimates by council experts put average yields from autumn-sown wheat at between 8.4 and 8.6 tonnes per hectare, exceeding the 5-year average of 7.9 tonnes per hectare. Bread wheat yields are between 6.5 and 11.5 tons per hectare, while feed wheat yields are between 7 and 14 tons per hectare. The fairly fast pace of harvest also ensured a relatively good hectoliter grain weight of 76-82, but the protein content was lower than expected – 12.3-12.7%.
