Long-term warm weather in Ukraine and a sufficient amount of fodder have a positive effect on the development of populations of mouse-like rodents in agrocenoses throughout the country. This is stated in the weekly report of the State Production and Consumer Service of Ukraine, APC-Inform reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
At the same time, it is noted that the above-threshold number of rodents is concentrated mainly in perennial grasses and fields not plowed after harvest. "In the centers of Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Poltava, Ternopil regions, 4-6 residential colonies per hectare are taken into account. On row crops, 1-3 colonies per hectare are counted. In the farms of the Vinnytsia, Zakarpattia, Kirovohrad, Lviv, Odesa, Ternopil, and Chernihiv regions, from the edges of winter rapeseed fields, from single to 1-2 colonies per hectare are recorded," the report specifies.
