According to RMI Analytics, the world barley harvest will decline to 147.5 million tonnes in 2023, due to a reduction in the area under cultivation, mainly due to competition with wheat. In total, the six main regions will harvest 4.5 million tons less, but stocks will be fairly stable due to reduced use of barley for feed purposes, including increased corn and wheat yields.
