Between September 9 and October 14, 2022, the global wheat market experienced a price increase, attributed to concerns over the Ukrainian sea corridor, a smaller American harvest, and drought in Argentina. During this period, the spot export price of milling wheat in Rouen and Germany rose by $21 and $4 respectively. In the US, red durum and soft winter wheat prices also increased. However, prices began to decrease towards the middle of October. In Hungary, the producer price of edible and feed wheat surpassed the previous year's price by 36% and 38% respectively. The settlement price of sustainable fodder wheat for March 2023 on the Budapest Stock Exchange slightly decreased during a specified period. The December quotation for wheat on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange ranged between $295 and $332/ton, while the quotation on the Paris commodity exchange decreased to 327 euros/ton.
