Romanian wheat production is forecast to fall to 7.9 million tonnes from 11.1 million, while Bulgaria's production has been tied at 5.7 million tonnes compared to 7.2 million. The EU's largest wheat producer, France, is projected to grow from 35.3 million to 34.5 million tonnes in 2022, while Germany's second-largest wheat production is projected to rise from 21.4 million to 22.1 million tonnes. Barley production in the EU and the UK in 2022 will fall slightly from 59.4 million this year to 59.0 million tonnes. According to Coceral, corn production would hardly change, it could be 66.4 million tons compared to 66.3 million tons in 2021, and the much higher yield in Hungary will offset the slightly lower production in Poland, Germany, France and Romania. For rapeseed, Europe’s main oilseed crop, Coceral said it is expected to reach 20.0 million tonnes in the EU and the UK, up from 18.5 million tonnes this year.
