The Ministry of Agriculture sees no reason for rising prices for rice in Russia this season. This is stated in the message of the ministry. "There are no grounds for price growth in the current season, which is also confirmed by the data of the National Rice Union," the Ministry of Agriculture believes. As noted in the ministry, the quality of rice and the volume of the harvest in 2022 fully meet the needs of Russian processing enterprises. At the same time, the Ministry of Agriculture explained that over the past year, the production of rice cereals in Russia increased by 2.6%. "According to the results of monitoring, analysis and assessment of the volume of consumer properties of rice, out of the surveyed 867.1 thousand tons, about 96.11% of rice corresponds to class 1-3, only 3.89% does not comply with GOST," the report says. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, raw material prices are currently stable, as are retail prices for cereals in retail chains.
Thus, the decrease in the cost of these products amounted to 1.9% since the beginning of the year, according to Rosstat as of March 13, 2023.
