Today, around 300 farmers from the Wielkopolska region blocked roads with their tractors. They are urging politicians to protect the country's food security by fulfilling five of their demands, reports the publication Farmer.pl. Polish farmers propose the introduction of minimum prices for agricultural products, which are currently sold below their production cost. They want regulation of the aggressive practices of retail chains and real restrictions for foreign supermarkets dominating the market. Strengthening control over the quality of imported food is another point on the list, which targets the dumped imports from Ukraine and the consequences of the agreement with Mercosur.
