Ms. Nguyen Ha, tuna market expert of the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), said that in 2022, Vietnam's tuna exports to France will grow by nearly 101% compared to that of the year 2022. with 2021. However, from the end of 2022 to the beginning of 2023, France fell into an inflationary spiral because of a sharp increase in food prices, causing the consumption of premium food to slow down, and the demand for many items including tuna. decreased sharply, leading to a decrease in imports from other countries. According to statistics of Vietnam Customs, French tuna imports from Vietnam decreased continuously in the first 3 months of 2023. Accumulated in the first quarter of this year, the value of tuna exports to this market decreased by 38 %, reaching 605 thousand USD.
