Ukraine remains the largest supplier of sunflower oil to the EU, but imports have decreased from last year. From July 1, 2024 to February 2, 2025, the EU imported approximately 1.24 million tons of sunflower oil, down from 1.51 million tons in the same period last year. Ukraine has supplied the EU market with 1.17 million tons of sunflower oil, accounting for 94% of market share. The decrease is due to a significant reduction in raw material supply, leading to a slowdown in processing and export potential. Serbia and Bosnia are the second and third most important suppliers with market shares of 3% and almost 1% respectively.
