Ukrainian farmers have reduced the area with barley for the 2023 harvest, reported Marina Marinich, a grain market analyst at UkrAgroConsult. She noted that winter barley acreage has been significantly reduced (to 535,000 ha) as this is the first autumn planting campaign since the start of a full-scale invasion, and southern Ukraine, where winter barley is normally grown, is still partially occupied. As for spring barley, the favorable period for sowing has already ended, and the plan of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine has not been implemented.
