Ukraine Sunflower. Past Season – Future Season

2024/25 sunflower season Domestic processing took 97% of crop. Raw-seed exports nearly vanished down to 69 K mt vs 309 K mt last season. Sunflower oil exports (down 24% vs 2023/24). Farmers held back SFS sales for almost the entire season. This is one of the main reasons for the unexpected increase in SFO exports in the final months of the season. Sunflower meal exports down 27%. Crisis in 2024 SFS production limited raw-seed supply but processing and market share in SFO and SFM was firm in 2024/25. 2025/26 sunflower season In 2025 SFS area expanded up (more by 3.3%) due to better returns last season. Expectations that advancing the harvest to the north and west will significantly increase yields have not been confirmed so far. Although yields are increasing, they remain quite low.
