(Ulsan=Yonhap News) Reporter Jang Yeong-eun = Ulsan's Ulju County announced on the 7th that it is implementing all-around preventive measures to prevent the inflow of highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) into Ulsan as the disease has occurred nationwide. Ulju County is conducting drone disinfection twice a week at 10 egg-laying farms within the county. It is also operating disinfection vehicles for joint prevention teams and disinfecting migratory bird habitats and small-scale livestock farms daily. Ulju County has also issued administrative orders such as prohibiting the outdoor breeding of poultry on poultry farms and making it mandatory to disinfect livestock vehicles before entering poultry farms. According to Ulju County, highly pathogenic AI antigens were detected earlier than in previous years, and highly pathogenic AI has occurred in poultry farms in Gyeonggi's Paju and Hwaseong, Gwangju's Nam-gu, Gyeonggi's Pyeongtaek, and Chungbuk's Yeongdong.
