According to the USDA, world production and consumption of sorghum has fallen compared to the previous cycle. The USA projects the lowest yield since 1960. A 42% drop in Chinese consumption is estimated. Argentina and Australia could gain participation in international trade On the supply side, the world sorghum market is made up of more than 30 producing countries, although many of them are net consumers. The three main exporters of this crop are the United States, Australia and Argentina. In the 2021/22 cycle, the North American country was responsible for 63% of world external sales, while Australia accounted for 18% of exports and Argentina 15%. However, the projected estimates for the 2022/23 cycle are far from the previous results.
